Geminids under a Bortle one sky

Описание: Was extremely fortunate earlier in the week to be able to get out under the stars for the entire nigh to witness the Geminids meteor shower. After doing a bit of scouting and planning I opted to head about an hour north of where I live. Not only did this put me in under a Bortle one sky which was especially important as the radiant of the meteor shower was only forecast to be about 22 degrees off the horizon, the location I selected has been on my list for quite some time for a North facing composition which suited this meteor shower perfectly.

I shot well over 2000 photos during the night between three cameras, which two on tripods and one shifting between my slider and video duties. It was an amazing experience as not only had it been quite some time since I'd been under a Bortle one sky, but I had never witnessed such an abundance of meteor activity with my own eyes. I'm so glad I did it as according to the Photo Pills app, we are not expected to have another meteor shower of that magnitude in my area for another 3 years.
