ELEVATING MY CHRISTMAS TREES | Making DIY Tree Stands

In today's video I'm elevating my artificial Christmas trees (both literally and aesthetically) by creating DIY tree stands using my existing antique milk can containers.

I love the structure and impact lifting an ordinary tree creates! And speaking of an ordinary tree...I am loving the smaller trees lately as long as I can find a way to give them a little boost. Smaller trees just seem more visually appetizing in some way. Don't get me wrong...I love a big statement tree too! (or any tree for that matter!).

To complete the tree stands, I used a fast setting concrete mix and sturdy PVC pipe. I mixed the concrete in each milk can then set the pipes inside (I did use a level) and allowed them to dry. Once dry (a few hours later) I simply had to insert the pole of my tree into the pipe. It did take a little playing to make sure they fit securely. I added some paper towels wrapped in packing tape.... so fancy. ;)

It worked out great! I love the added impact the tree stands made along with the free space below to add decorations, poinsettias, or to display gifts!
