Honda Jazz tailgate replacement

There were a few reasons the owner wanted to fit a replacement tailgate:
-The old one had a dent.
-The old one had started to rust along the bottom edge.
-The handle was sticking (a common problem) to the extent that it was hard to open the tailgate and latch it closed again.

I began by removing the weather seal and some of the internal trim plastics. Having done the job, I realised that I removed more trim than I needed to, and I cover this in the video.

Next it was time to undo the gas struts and then the hinge bolts, while an assistant held the tailgate to stop it falling. You could prop it up with some wood if an assistant is not available.

The owner of the vehicle had managed to find a replacement tailgate in colour and with all the ancillaries already attached (latch, lock, wiper motor etc) so it was then quite a straightforward process of fitting the new tailgate and putting everything back together. I tested it before reassembling everything.
