West Rim of the Grand Canyon – Skywalk & Guano Point Blew Us Away!

Описание: We finally made it to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon—and it completely exceeded our expectations! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the experience was even more special because it was our daughter’s very first time seeing the Grand Canyon. We flew to Las Vegas then made the quick drive to the West Rim.

From dramatic cliffs to unforgettable lookout points, the West Rim surprised us with how beautiful and peaceful it felt. If you’ve ever wondered whether the West Rim is worth visiting, we’re sharing our honest experience, favorite moments, and tips for families planning a trip.

One of the highlights of our visit was stepping out onto the famous Grand Canyon Skywalk — and wow… nothing prepares you for that feeling.

The Skywalk is a massive glass bridge that extends 70 feet out over the edge of the canyon, suspended 4,000 feet above the Colorado River. Walking out onto the clear floor with nothing but canyon views below is both thrilling and surreal. It’s one of those heart-pounding, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you just have to feel for yourself.

Watching our daughter take her first steps onto the glass (with a mix of excitement and nerves!) made it even more memorable. Seeing the canyon from that perspective — surrounded by towering rock walls and endless desert landscape — gave us a whole new appreciation for just how massive and beautiful it truly is.

But honestly? Guano Point completely stole our hearts.
Unlike the structured experience of the Skywalk, Guano Point feels wild and open. You can walk along the rocky trails, climb up to higher vantage points, and take in 360-degree views of the canyon. It’s rugged, peaceful, and gives you that “top of the world” feeling. The panoramic views from the old mining site were absolutely breathtaking and quickly became one of our favorite moments of the trip.

Watching our daughter see the canyon for the first time was something we’ll never forget. 💛
