Описание: First track off this double LP released in 1980 under the title Musik der Nubier as vol. 9 in a series of field recordings by the Museum of Ethnography [Museum für Volkerkunde] in Berlin -- these particular recordings were made by Artur Simon, who is also the album series editor. Recordings comes from Northern Sudan, and highlight the instrument you see pictured on the cover called the kisir, or bowl lyre. It's a strange instrument that sounds very different depending on whether its strummed, as here, or plucked. Dahab Khalil is credited as the lyre player on this track, accompanied by an unknown number doing the body percussion.
