Our Corporate History
Back 2 Basics Athletic Training was founded in 2013 in Charlotte, North Carolina by Allen 'Terrell' Royster, a decorated and dedicated athlete. Founded with the mission to help advance minds in both the world of sports and personal development, Allen began training children on a regular basis and soon grew to work with celebrities, and National Football League families. Back 2 Basics Athletic Training has since grown to include multiple mobile locations and has worked with over 5,000 children since its inception!
Allen, or 'Terrell' as most know him, is a motivational speaker, author, and veteran trainer and basketball player. Over the years, he has worked with Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC, Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY, University of Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, and most recently with the families of members of both the NFL and NBA. Allen developed a passion for helping children of all backgrounds after experiencing the power of mentorship in his own life. Most would have not predicted the success that he's been able to accomplish, which makes him a firm believer in the power of discipline, consistency and determination. 

Allen is the eldest of 9 children, and currently resides in Fort Mill, SC. He travels and works 7 days a week building his business, encouraging, mentoring and training and authoring his first book about his life and journey.
