Описание: They say a man’s home is his castle and that is now literally the case for Shannan Drakkon, who moved to Burnie in Tasmania from NSW to realise his life-long dream.

You can’t just build a castle between the corner astore and the next house along – it needs to be on a good hill and Shannan found that hill in north west Tasmania.

Abig fan of role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons and swords and sorcery style tabletop games, Shannan also considered a dedicated games room to be essential to the plan and the design.

The end result has had the whole town talking. Known as Dragon’s Roost, it is a modern castle with medieval influenced architecture and grey blocks with distinctly ancient vibes. There’s a microwave in the kitchen, but crennelated battlements and turrets on the outside.
