Domestic LPG cylinder prices have increased across India from 7 March 2026, putting additional pressure on household budgets. Oil marketing companies including Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum have raised the price of the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by ₹60, pushing prices above ₹900 in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

At the same time, the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder price has increased by ₹115, affecting restaurants and small businesses across the country. The price hike comes amid rising global energy costs due to tensions in the Middle East, particularly the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, which has impacted international gas markets.

The Indian government has also directed refineries to boost LPG production under emergency provisions to ensure uninterrupted cooking gas supply for millions of households. India currently has over 33 crore active LPG consumers, making LPG one of the most critical household fuels in the country.
