1 Dies in Fiery Crash on 101 Freeway in Ventura

Описание: VENTURA, Calif., June 9, 2026 (KNN) – A two-vehicle traffic collision involving fire happened on the southbound 101 Freeway in Ventura near the 33 southbound transition, leaving one dead late Monday night.

One of the vehicles, a GMC, had an occupant trapped inside while the vehicle was on fire. The Ventura Fire Department confirmed the person was deceased upon its arrival.

The coroner requested assistance from the fire department to extricate the victim for transport.

The California Highway Patrol imposed a hard closure on the second and third lanes as it investigated the collision.

The GMC was heavily damaged, and the cause of the collision is currently unknown.
