Even though 2020 seemed like a year with no travel, the destiny showed me a sign and offered me a chance to visit this beautiful country. Hard times in Belarus, I needed to change the mood and switch the context. The other year I would probably choose a different destination and a different type of vacation, but this year any type of vacation seemed like a great choice. So I decided to give a go for All inclusive type of vacation. So to say Turkey handles the coronavirus situation much better than my own country, so there was almost no increased risk.
A couple of days after arrival, I rented a mountain bike to cycle in the actual mountains. It was the first time I used a mountain bike in the mountains and it helped be understand why it is constructed this way. On a flat surface of Belarus you don't really need a mountain bike and should probably call it a Forest bike instead. While in Turkey it seems like a rather suitable choice.
I was near Antalya coast where most of the locals speak Russian as a second language and as a means of survival: most of the tourists that visit this area are from either Belarus, Ukraine or Russia.
This year it felt like they were desperate to get any money from the tourists, so the prices felt a bit lower for certain things while the other things were a bit overpriced. I think I paid $7 per day for renting this low-range (although a very decent and a very capable) mountain bike.
In between mountainbiking and hike-a-biking in the mountains, I enjoyed swimming and kayaking, as well as all inclusive cuisine of the Ulusoy hotel.
Kayaking, swimming, sunbathing, cycling, mountain biking. All these activities helped me escape the harsh reality of Belarus and enjoy a short but very nice vacation.
