Описание: Rei, a.k.a Callum Rei McDougall, is a 21-year-old Hip Hop artist from Wellington, New Zealand. Rei fell in love with rapping and producing during his 5 years singing in the Wellington College Chorale. This choirboy-turned-rapper has just finished his degree in Marketing and Te Reo Maori at Victoria University. His music is strongly influenced by his bi-cultural identity, being a New Zealander of Pākeha (European) and Māori descent. This is represented through his Huia feather logo, which is a Māori symbol of mana (prestige) and rangatiratanga (chieftanship).

He aims to create a global Hip Hop sound, which exhibits his South Pacific background and also transcends cultural barriers. His music mixes elements of Hip Hop, Reggae, Dancehall and Future Bass. Rei's self-produced album C.H.I.E.F was released in April 2015 and has already won the award for Best Māori Urban/Hip Hop/RnB album at the 2015 Waiata Māori Music Awards. Now residing in Auckland, Rei's combination of raw talent, ambition and relentless work ethic means he just might be the next big artist to come out of Aotearoa, New Zealand.
