Lancelot is often called the Dark Knight—mostly for his striking appearance: short, curly black hair, a neatly trimmed beard and moustache, and deep brown eyes framed by thick lashes. His dark style adds to the mystique—black leather breeches, a white cotton shirt, black jacket, boots, and even a black stallion complete the look.

His expressive face hides his true thoughts, often accompanied by a trademark smirk that charms women and girls around the fortress.

Personality

Lancelot is like the devil’s advocate—charismatic but double-faced. He might smile at you while plotting your downfall. He’s sarcastic, bold, and arrogant, especially around those he despises—namely, any Roman not named Arthur. Those he dislikes are met with cold indifference or simply ignored.

A natural leader, Lancelot commands well under pressure. His loyalty to Arthur, his best friend and commander, is unwavering. Since arriving on this “wretched island,” Arthur has been his closest bond. He’s also protective of his brothers-in-arms and fiercely defends those he considers family.

Though not easily angered, harm anyone he cares about—especially Arthur—and he turns into a fierce force of vengeance.

│ Don't bury me in our sad little cemetery.

Lancelot is charming and outgoing, but capable of becoming as dark as his name suggests. His moods shift quickly, and when brooding, he prefers solitude. Women are drawn to him wherever he goes—rarely seen without a beautiful companion—though he seeks no commitment. He feels undeserving of family, having taken many from others in war.

Brief History

Lancelot was born on the great plain stretching from the Caucasus Mountains to the Black Sea. In a small Sarmatian village by the shore, his early life was peaceful. His father, Benzyl—a former knight—tried in vain to protect him when the Romans came, as they always did. At ten, Lancelot was taken, saving his father's life in the process, but losing everything else—his family, home, and beloved dog.

After a three-month journey, he arrived in Britain, where he met Arthur. Arthur, then eighteen, saw in the young boy both promise and unmatched skill. They trained and fought side-by-side from that day forward, sharing not only battles but the pleasures of life as well.

Their bond only deepened over time. Lancelot would gladly give his life for Arthur’s happiness. Should Arthur act against his own well-being, Lancelot becomes even more relentless in trying to change his mind. He believes deeply in Arthur—but not in Arthur’s God.
