Capestrano è situato nella parte orientale della provincia dell'Aquila, fra l'altopiano di Navelli e la valle del Tirino. Collocato sul versante orientale di un colle, a 465 metri s.l.m. si trova in posizione dominante sulla vallata sottostante. Famosi sono la statua di arte italica del “Guerriero di Capestrano”, risalente al sec. VI a.c, ed il santo patrono Giovanni da Capestrano.
Capestrano is located in the eastern part of the province of L'Aquila, between the Navelli plateau and the Tirino valley. Located on the eastern slope of a hill, 465 metres above sea level, it dominates the valley below. Famous are the Italic art statue of the 'Capestrano Warrior', dating back to the 6th century BC, and the patron saint Giovanni da Capestrano.
