A few months ago, many viewers emailed me to express their interest in traditional Japanese carpentry, to show the most genuine view of traditional technology and its importance to present life. We decided to make a video about: "Amazing Kiku and Kiwari Systems in the Curved Roof Structure & Traditional Roofing Materials"
#roofstructure #roofing #curves
This script I wrote based on some interviews of a few master craftsmen, the Roof Typology book, and what I've searched on google for it. after that, I have rewritten the content, a new voice was recorded, new effects work, new music, new footage added and a new creation is created as my statement: "This video belongs to me"
Roofs in Japanese architecture consist of complex curves, curved sides of the sloped roof plane combined with the upside-down curves of the awning lines in the corners of the roof-requiring a sophisticated geometry system to determine how precise cutting of the surface angle where frame members meet. Carpenters need high development knowledge of this geometry to accurately connect these members, by calculating the depth of the awning, the level of the curve and the shape of the cutting surface of each member. ► Become a member of this channel to get access to perks:
