08 A Brief Introduction to my Brand New Dagger Stratos Kayak!

Filmed on the 16th August 2019, just a brief introduction of 'my' new Dagger Stratos kayak that I had just picked up from Progressive Distribution in Dublin, courtesy of my great mate, Des Mulvihill from Outdoor Sports in Mullingar.

Oh, and my dog Charlie acting the eejit! 😉

For those who don't know my story yet, here is an outline of the challenge I've set myself!

On the 30th September, I'm going to attempt to kayak solo the 300km distance along the River Shannon from Dowra in Co. Leitrim, Ireland to Killimer on the shores of The Shannon Estuary in Co. Clare.

The River Shannon is the LONGEST river on The Irish & British Isles, so I will hope to raise much needed funds for a total of 3 charities in the UK and 3 in Ireland, where EVERY penny donated will go straight to the charities, and NOT be used to fund the endeavour, which I am completely financing myself.

The charities that I will be focussing on, will be within the areas of Cancer Research & Support, Mental Health and Animal Welfare, and basically, whatever is donated in Sterling goes to the UK/NI charities, and anything that is donated in Euros, goes to the Irish charities, hence the two 'justgiving pages'.

So the specific charities I've chosen are:

UK and Northern Ireland:
Cancer Research UK
RSPCA
Samaritans UK

I'll be hoping to put up regular videos and updates on all social media channels, so hopefully I can offer a bit of entertainment in return for your donation!
