Esa Saarinen' return lecture on April 2, 2014, for lecture series "Philosophy and systems thinking" ("Filosofia ja systeemiajattelu") at the Aalto University's Otaniemi campus. The lecture took place in the Dipoli building just four weeks after the dramatic stabbing of Saarinen on March 5th, 2014 by a disturbed young man. With the help of Saarinen's assistant Jaakko Korhonen and outsiders, the attacker was apprehended on the spot into police custody. After surgery, Saarinen recovered fully.
