My Favourite Cafes and Restaurants in Thamel, Kathmandu

Описание: I have spent just over a month in Kathmandu and, more specifically, Thamel, the hub for backpackers and tourists visiting Nepal's capital.

Despite my time there, I don't have much footage to give a full Kathmandu episode despite visiting the Buddha Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhu Maha chaitya, and Thamel. This is devastating, as I would love to showcase these in a video, but they are in my mind and on my photo album for now.

However, I have some footage from last year of a few favourite cafes and restaurants I would frequent when based in Thamel. These are a mix of Nepali and Western cuisines, and I could have recommended more, but again, I have no content to show you.

I hope this gives you a starting point in Thamel when you need coffee, traditional Nepalese food, or a Western Breakfast.

Thamel is such a great area to be based in Kathmandu; it is the start and end point of your trip to Nepal and holds special memories for me. I reminisce about us recalling the hikes and travels we had completed in Nepal with friends in the cafes and bars in Thamel. This is where I bought my first hiking kit and experienced Dhal Bat. This is where we stayed in great hostels and met other like-minded backpackers. A special place.

My only annoyance is that I haven't got much video footage of all the sights we saw in Kathmandu and all the streets we walked around the city. That means only one thing: I will have to go back and get some more. What a shame!
