Описание: The people of Kashmir are sending a message: Kashmir is not Pakistan. Thousands of people gathered in Rawalakot in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to protest against the Pakistani government, accusing it of political neglect, economic hardship and restricting food supplies.

During the rally, Joint Awami Action Committee leader Sardar Amman Khan said, "POK is not a part of Pakistan. We do not need Pakistan; rather, it is Pakistan that desperately needs POK." He also warned that if restrictions continued, residents could look to "other trade routes."

While opposition to the Pakistani occupation dates back to the beginning, protesters said this latest movement began over rising prices, electricity costs and shortages of essential goods. Now, they have political demands as well.

Pakistan is treating the protests as a “security issue.”
