Thought would let you into details of a fave place of ours and a fantastic alternative, in the busy and very hot summer months, to the beach.
In the centre of the ancient and very small town of Cela is a wonderful open air pool/lido surrounded by shaded grassed areas and some fantastic bar/restaurants serving very well priced Spanish delicacies and drinks.
The Lido is something very special as the crystal fresh water which fills it is diverted from a warm spring that´s been a focal part of the town since it´s Roman occupation. Renowned for it´s refreshing and healing qualities the warm spring water means the Lido ( known as a Balsa) is warm enough to swim in even in December.
