I've seen a few levels by OliSW on YouTube in the past, but they've all been quite hard. If you haven't seen them yourself, I'd describe the visuals as somewhat reminiscent of SleyGD, at least in some of the levels. Trek, on the other hand, is much easier and focused around art. There's also a very cool and clever mechanic that I'm surprised I haven't seen in any levels before. With this in mind, this was a pleasant surprise for me to play. It's also quite fun, so I'm sure this will be an Epic Easy Demon.
Right from the start, you can tell that this is an art level. The art style OliSW went with is quite different the usual art levels you see in the game. Art is found in both the background and foreground, but it's not made up of custom shapes drawn together with tons of different objects. Instead, OliSW went with a few shapes and reused them over and over to make up the art. For example, the grass is made up of many green circles, while the trees in the background are made up of many brown rectangles. The art itself isn't the best, which I'm sure you can tell, but this choice makes it stand out regardless. This is the case for the rest of the level too. It does change away from the forest theme here and there, which makes it less repetitive. There's a part underwater and another one in the clouds. The forest part does return a few times, but I think it's fine to ground the theme somewhat like this.
Gameplay is perhaps the coolest thing in this level to me. As I mentioned, there's a mechanic that I haven't really seen before, and it's first used at 0:28. Basically, going into the water puts you in Ship mode. The portals are invisible, but it does make sense that going into the water puts you in this mode as it's the one that's most similar to an actual ship on water. Once you're familiar with the mechanic, it plays very smoothly. Flying up from the water launches you into the sky as a Cube. As you may notice, all the parts taking place on land are either Cube or Robot, while Ship parts happen underwater. This distinction is very interesting. Playing these parts is very fun and intuitive, and the rest of the gameplay is fine too, so I have no issues here.
