The survivor fought nine long years for justice—years marked by relentless intimidation and tragedy. During this period, her father died in police custody, her uncle was jailed, and her lawyer along with two aunts were killed in a mysterious car accident. Desperate for justice, the survivor was even forced to attempt self-immolation outside the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s residence to draw national attention to her case.

In this exclusive interview, Barkha Dutt speaks to the rape survivor, who says the Delhi High Court order left her shattered and contemplating suicide, but she continues to fight for the sake of her two children.
