LANGZA
Location & Elevation: Langza is a remote hamlet in Spiti Tehsil of Lahaul and Spiti district, Himachal Pradesh, perched at approximately 4,420–4,435 m (14,500–14,550 ft) above sea level .
Population & Layout: Home to roughly 136–137 residents across about 33 households, the village is split into Langza Gongma (Upper) and Langza Yongma (Lower)

Claim to Fame: Among the world’s highest villages connected by a motorable road.
Population: Around 100–150 residents
Name Meaning: Komic means “eye of a snow cock” (Ko = snow cock, Mic = eye) in local language.
Accessibility: Connected by road from Kaza (~19 km away). The road is steep and winding, with stunning views.

Before the bridge, residents crossed via a manually operated ropeway trolley — risky, especially in winter or with goods/livestock.
