And maybe you've read Michael Shaara's "Killer Angels," and the movie Gettysburg that the novel was based on. So, if you've done that, you know the story of Joshua Chamberlain. You know about his extraordinary leadership as the commanding officer of the 20th Maine at the Battle of Gettysburg, on the left flank at Little Round Top. Chamberlain went on to be a 4 term Governor of Maine, and President of Bowdoin College. To really get to know him, though, we need visit him in the home where he lived for a half century, with his wife, Fanny.
