What is "Little Stories"?

In the museum field, our work is often measured by large-scale exhibitions and high-profile events. But history isn’t just made of "big moments." It’s built from thousands of "Little Stories."

As historians, we constantly stumble upon glimpses of the past—a single name in a 19th-century mill log, or a one-sentence mention of a shipwreck in an old newspaper. In the rush to build big exhibitions, these tiny fragments often end up in a folder marked "needs more research." But here at the museum, we don’t want them to stay there. We keep a living document called "People Research" to ensure these lives are never forgotten.

We’re excited to introduce a new series called "Little Stories."

The goal? To bridge the gap between the past and present.

Why does this matter? We feel a calling to witness and remember those who came before us. Every name represents someone who was loved and needed. It also connects us. In a world where it’s easy to feel isolated, these stories prove we aren't alone across time and space.
