A clash ensued between wrestlers and Delhi Police when the protesting wrestlers breached barricades and attempted to march towards the new Parliament. Police officials made efforts to calm the situation. During the incident, Sakshi Malik was detained by the police. It is worth noting that the wrestlers did not have permission to proceed with their march. Considering the circumstances, extensive security personnel were deployed in the vicinity of the Parliament, as a Mahapanchayat (large public gathering) took place in support of the agitating wrestlers who have been demanding the resignation of WFI chief Brij Bhushan Saran Singh.
