Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at these Dexter Nev-R-Adjust electric 12 1/4-inch trailer brakes for your Dexter ABS tow assist. And what I have on my table here are both the left and right-hand, but we do also offer this in just the left or the right. So, whichever's gonna work for you, either the both of the assemblies, or just the left or the right, I have the appropriate model numbers that you see there on your screen. You can just take that number, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to the two or the one that you're looking for, and you can add that to your order.
So, if you're running a trailer with Dexter's ABS Tow Assist, these brake assemblies are designed to make your setup safer and easier to manage. These are built specifically for your Dexter 8,000 pound ABS-equipped axles. And as you can see here, this does have a four-bolt mounting flange. So, these assemblies are sized at 12 1/4 inches in diameter by 3 3/8-inches wide. And these are gonna be compatible with wheel sizes that are 15 inches or larger.
And I was just gonna retrieve my ruler here, just to confirm some measurements with you. So, as you can see on the width there, we are indeed at 3 3/8-inches wide. And then looking at the diameter here, measuring brake pad to brake pad, if I can line that up there so you can see, which kind of tricky there. Move my finger there. So as you can see, we're sitting right at 12 1/4 inches.
Hopefully you can see that. And kind of pushing the edges of my frame there. Now these are Nev-R-Adjust electric brakes, which means the shoes are gonna automatically keep themselves properly adjusted. So, you're not gonna have to crawl under your trailer for those periodic tweaks. This will maintain consistent braking power all on its own.
And because this is an electric setup, there's no hydraulic lines or actuators to deal with. You simply use your in-cab brake controller for smooth, predictable braking. Durability wise, these use the bonded brake shoes and a proven magnet design. So, these are meant to hold up to plenty of miles and give you peace of mind every trip. By the way, these are labeled "LEFT HAND" and "RIGHT HAND," but sometimes brake assemblies are not labeled. And just a way to know which one that you have, in case you don't know, when you look at the shorter brake shoe, the shorter brake shoe is what's considered to be the primary brake shoe. That's the brake shoe that always points to the front. And the longer brake shoe, as you can see here, that's what faces the back of the trailer. So as you can see, since this is the shorter brake shoe, this points to the front, and so this will be mounted on the left side of your trailer or the driver's side of your trailer. So, if you don't have a sticker indicating if it's left or right, you just look at that shorter brake shoe, and that shorter brake shoe that points to the front will let you know if this goes on the left or the right. So, on this one, of course, as you can see, the shorter brake shoe goes that direction. So, as you can see, that would go on the passenger side of your trailer. So, hopefully that's nice and clear for you. But if you happen to have any other additional questions, whether it's about these assemblies or anything else that we carry, don't hesitate to reach out. And again, you can get both the pair here, as I have on my table, or just the left or the right one, whichever's gonna work best for you. Well again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
