Another week, another video from our dive trip to Malta in 2018! 2nd of our 2 dives we did in Gozo at the wonderful looking blue hole ! Shout out to Maltaqua Dive Centre who looked after us during our stay 👍

DIVE DETAILS
This was our 2nd dive of the day in Gozo after we did the Inland Sea in the morning. A very popular site for not only divers, but also for general swimmers and snorkelers. We weren’t able to see the Azure Window as it had collapsed the year prior (2017), however we did see parts of the former Window, now the Azure Reef, while doing the dive at 03:43, although it was hard to tell underwater. Throughout the video you may notice some misting around the lense, this was because of my GoPro leaking in the morning dive, fortunately my Dad brought his for this dive, so I've added some of his footage as well (you’ll probably be able to tell!). After going under the underwater window of the entry point (00:07), we made our way to a small channel-like area which brought some nice footage (01:09). We then made our way throughout the reefs which were full of marine life, including Two Banded Seabream, Painted Comber, Parrot fish and even though it was off camera, we did some Barracuda! A nice relaxing dive, with lots of marine life to see. 🤩👌

DIVE SITE HISTORY
The Blue Hole is about 10m wide and 5m across in a circular rock formation, and is located next to the now nonexistent Azure Window. The Blue hole can be reached after a 200m hard difficult walk over the rocky shore, however the dive is worth the hassle of carrying dive equipment. The hole is a sheltered pool area protected by a fringe of rock and is a common entry/exit point for divers. The depth of the blue hole is 15m where a beautiful archway or underwater window leads from the hole into the open sea at 9 m deep. Many colourful small marine life such as coral, tubeworms and sponges can be found on the walls of the hole. The Blue Hole dive is usually combined with diving the Coral Gardens and the Azure reef (formally the Azure Window).
