The “Marian Anderson and Friends Project” is a play concept written by, Haywood Fennell Sr., about the great Contralto Marian Anderson being denied the opportunity in 1939 to sing at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., by the Daughters of the American Revolution and the response from some of her friends. Not only did she have a great singing voice, she had a voice that was heard around the world speaking for equal rights and social Justice.
