VIVO – An Ontology-Based Research Information System

Описание: This recorded talk from a research colloquium at ZB MED introduces VIVO an ontology-based research information system. VIVO creates a connected, integrated representation of the scholarly output of an institution, that can be used for reports, visualisations and analyses. As a system designed to increase the visibility and connectivity of scholarly work, VIVO supports the creation of web-based research profiles for individuals, projects, organizations, and events.

The talk is held by Christian Hauschke and Dragan Ivanovic. After working in several academic libraries in a wide range of positions, Christian started to coordinate the TIB's (Leibniz-Informationszentrum Technik und Naturwissenschaften und Universitätsbibliothek) VIVO activities as a member of the Open Science Lab in 2016. In his part of the talk he gives a general introduction on VIVO, its features, gives different examples of profiles and visualisation and reports how the community works on the Open Source Software.

Dragan Ivanovic, full professor at University of Novi Sad and research software engineer, has a large experience of working on CERIF-based systems development in the context of EC funded projects for euroCRIS. He is the VIVO technical lead since 2021 and explains in this talk the technical details of the development of the VIVO platform.
