In the wilderness with Christ.

Описание: On this First Sunday of Lent, we reflect on the powerful Collect from the Book of Common Prayer and the Scriptures appointed: 2 Corinthians 6:1–10 and Matthew 4:1–11.

As Jesus is led by the Spirit into the wilderness, we are reminded that seasons of testing are not accidents but part of God’s refining work. In the desert, Christ faces temptation and stands firm in obedience, answering every assault of the enemy with the Word of God. Where Adam failed and Israel faltered, Jesus remains faithful — the true and obedient Son.

This sermon explores what it means to enter the wilderness with Christ during Lent: to embrace spiritual discipline, to resist temptation, and to hear afresh Paul’s urgent words, “Now is the day of salvation.” Lent is not about outward ritual alone, but about inward renewal — receiving the grace of God not in vain.
