Some people would argue it’s not just Europe but the world.
Berlin’s kebab reputation isn’t accidental. Large scale Turkish migration in the 1960s and ’70s helped shape the city’s food culture, and over time the döner evolved from a street snack into one of Berlin’s most recognisable everyday foods. Today, the city is home to thousands of kebab shops, each putting their own spin on a format that’s become part of daily life here.
For this episode, I set out to visit some of Berlin’s most talked about kebab spots from classic döner counters to late night Turkish street-food institutions to see how the modern kebab scene stacks up against the hype.
🔥 Muca Kebap a modern Berlin döner spot focusing on quality meat and a contemporary take on kebab culture.
🥙 Tekbir Döner a long-established Kreuzberg favourite known for traditional beef döner.
🌶️ Nefis Gemüse Kebap a popular Gemüse kebab stop built around fresh vegetables and fast street-food service.
🦪 Midye 47 specialising in classic Turkish street food like midye dolma, often associated with late-night eating in Berlin.
🍢 Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap one of Berlin’s most famous kebab stands, internationally known for its chicken döner and long queues.
Big love to the kebab crews ❤️
Big love to Berlin 🇩🇪
