In the view of the Jury the young ensemble did a tremendous job in "bringing Africa to Austria": adding drums and singing (both very typical for the spontaneous music sessions in Subsaharan Africa), dancing together, jumping into a swimming pool, running down a hill. The video transports pure joy of life, and mixes in an ingenious way the Austrian language and spirit with the African inspired music. A huge fun to watch!

The ensemble explains:
"The name of the ensemble „FoiFüFlöten” means “lots of recorders” in Austrian dialect. The sextet is made up of Marita, Karo, Karin, Johanna, David and Christina. We met through the “Städtische Musikschule Linz” (municipal school of music Linz), where our mentor Renate is teaching. The group constellation as it is now, exists since 2018.
The video is set to the atmospheric first movement “Jangu wano” of Sören Sieg´s African Suite No. 17 “Njagala Nnyimba” (I love music). “Jangu Wano” is a welcoming ritual. The piece takes the listeners on a journey to the scenic planes of the African continent. Aiming to capture this exulting joy and reverence of life in our video, we let our imagination and enthusiasm run wild and added percussion and a choir to the original score. Here are the lyrics in Austrian dialect:
Kumm her, o kumm her, jetzt amoi!
I geh nu ned hoam, geh nu ned hoam.
Translation:
Come here, come here at once!
I won´t go home yet, not yet."
