The concerts and the album challenge the boundaries between classical and folk music. They paint a rich musical portrait of the three regions in bright colours and detailed nuances. Classical composers from each region are played side by side with traditional music that often inspired their work, performed together with a rotating cast of renowned folk vocalists and instrumentalists as guest artists.

The Between Worlds Ensemble is joined by Marina Heredia, one of the leading voices in contemporary Flamenco, as well as musicians José Quevedo "Bolita" (guitar) and Paquito González (percussion).


This concert was one of three at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, exploring the music of the Southern Italy, the Iberian Peninsula and the Black Sea region. All three concerts are available in our streaming service STAGE+: https://stage.plus/avital
