As contractors, we often have one singular bank account where all funds go in and out of. We often don't realise how ego based this decision is, we love to see the big numbers that can flow through the accounts. What we don't realize though, is that the waves of highs and lows that come with this practice cause an emotional strain within us. We need to check our ego, and start using a more 'envelope' style of banking. Pull out what you need for taxes, what you need for job expenses (COS / COGS, IYKYK), what you need for yourself, payroll and so on. It isn't until this becomes common practice, that you actually know where you stand. If you want to get out of the rinse cycle with your finances, let's chat.
