In this video I investigate a common Y Plan fault where heating comes on with hot water and hot water comes on with heating. I show my real fault finding process by isolating the 3 port valve, using a 5 pin plug, checking live voltages, and comparing the results with my laminate wiring notes. This is practical site based testing to understand exactly what the valve and controls are doing and where the fault really is. I am also happy to share the laminate notes with my students for training and revision.
