The EMD F59PHI locomotive was built from 1994 to 2001. For the last 20 years, they have been used by Amtrak on Pacific Surfliner and Amtrak Cascades trains. In 2018, these locomotives were replaced by new Siemens SC-44 Charger locomotives. Let's take one last "farewell" look at the F59PHI locomotives in their last year of service before being retired from Amtrak and sold off to Metra commuter rail in Chicago. All aboard!
