1. SOUNDBITE (English) Aisling Bea, actor/script editor and Lara McDonnell, actor:
Bea: "It's a weird one where you have to - even like auditioning for things as an actor - you have to go into that room, pretend that's your mother and she's on her deathbed and you're like, 'Oh, OK, let me just put down my tea.' And you have to immediately get rid of awkward moments to sort of do your job properly."
McDonnell: "Or any embarrassment, yeah."
Bea: "Or any embarrassment to do your job properly. So you do end up kind of almost like revving up, like, from zero to sixty intimacy with people and suddenly you realize you don't know their real name or if they have any kids but you've told them, like, loads of your secrets. So I think that happens a lot on acting jobs in particular. It's kind of a circus lifestyle and I think you sort of have a circus lifestyle to match, maybe a personality where you do that naturally. I think people connecting is weirdly a personality trait and a necessary part of doing this job."
