This video is a little different than most of my videos in that it is a "reaction & thoughts" kind of video! With the new year ringing in, Series 12 rules have also been announced, and it is in fact a GS Cup format WITH Dynamax! 2019 had a GS Cup format but there was no dynamax, but also there was no Calyrex (Shadow or Ice), and there was no Zacian! These additions make it so that the meta should be very different than back then and more importantly, with 7 months of this format, this will be the World Championship format and it will give ample time for people to be creative and develop teams!

Initially, I think Zacian + a very strong restricted like a Kyogre or a Calyrex Shadow will be the teams to beat in the early going. Sun teams with Venusaur will always be strong as long as there is dynamax, and now adding something like a Zacian to that makes it even more oppressive. Yveltal, in my opinion, is the greatest restricted to truly benefit from a dual restricted format because not only can it weaken your opponent's team, but Max Airstream speed boosts and Max Darkness special defense drops can make your own special-attacking restricted Pokemon be even stronger. Yveltal with a Zacian-Coalossal core is very strong and must be respected!

That being said, I think a duo like Zacian - Palkia with proper support can answer a lot of what's being used in the early going. With Palkia, you have something that walls Kyogre AND Zacian very well - almost forcing Zacian to run Play Rough as a result. As long as you can answer Calyrex Shadow & Sun teams from there, the team will be good! In the later part of the video, I give you a sample Palkia - Zacian team!
