Doctor Sleep is a 2019 American supernatural horror film written, directed, and edited by Mike Flanagan. We’re stepping back into the Overlook Hotel with our reaction to Doctor Sleep (2019) which is also the long-awaited sequel to The Shining!
Years after surviving the horrors of the Overlook Hotel, Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) struggles with addiction and the ghosts of his childhood. When he encounters Abra Stone, a young girl with powerful “shine” abilities, he’s drawn into a battle against Rose the Hat and her cult known as The True Knot — psychic predators who feed on the souls of gifted children.
As Abra’s power awakens and the True Knot closes in, Dan must confront both the monsters of his past and the evil that never truly died inside the hotel’s haunted halls.
