This studio recording was made around 1979.
The Waltz in A minor (posth.), B. 150, might have remained unnoticed in the library of the Paris Conservatoire had it not been for the combined researches of the Chopin scholars Arthur Hedley and Maurice J.E. Brown and of Monsieur J.G. Prod'homme, who mentioned its existence in the musical quarterly of January, 1939. John Vallier later gave its world première, and his edition, together with extensive notes, is included in "Oxford Keyboard Classics - Chopin" published by Oxford University Press (ISBN 0 19 372411 1).
John Vallier (1920 to 1991) was a child prodigy who only later in life became acknowledged as one of the great romantic pianists.
