This lecture is part of an online course on commutative algebra, following the book
"Commutative algebra with a view toward algebraic geometry" by David Eisenbud.
In this lecture we review the definition of the tensor product of R-modules.
We calculate the tensor products in the cases of vector s spaces and finitely generated abelian groups, and give an example to show that taking tensor products does not preserve exactness.
