No talking, just driving.
Summary: A short drive in one of my classic cars, my 30 year old Rover 213 SE Auto. I like all cars, but I am happy to admit I have a soft spot for Rovers. They are unfairly criticised, and even more so now that the company is no longer with us. I have managed to save one of the now rarest cars from Austin Rover's 1980s range, the Mk1 200 or SD3 as it was codenamed. 418,367 were built at Longbridge, Birmingham from 1984-89, however the passing of three decades has not been kind for survival numbers, just like most eighties motors. This one is not one of the best, but I like it and I enjoy driving it. This is an important car for Rover, it transformed them into a maker of upmarket mainstream cars. We all know how it ended for this wonderful company, but for a while let's enjoy what they could do best, build unashamedly 'British' cars with faux wood veneer trim, and velour upholstery, even if this one happened to be quite Japanese everywhere else. Terrific.
