HOW TO LIVE A MORE ETHICAL LIFE // using consumer power to support socially responsible businesses

Описание: I have been learning a lot lately about ethical businesses and the power we have as consumers to support businesses who do good. It may not feel like our dollars can make an impact when I look at all the world's problems and the effects big businesses have on the world's problems. But we can make a difference! We can avoid companies that support the fossil fuel industry. We can avoid companies that support social issues we don't believe in. And we can avoid companies that have unsafe conditions and unfair wages for their workers.

I think one of the most important places to start is research. I did a lot of research this month on ethical business, and mostly on ethical clothing brands. I've learned a lot about fast fashion and the harmful effects it has on the environment and on communities. I don't want to financially support companies who don't care about filling landfills with their cheaply made products or companies who don't care about paying overseas employees a living wage. I would MUCH rather use my money to buy articles of clothing that are made to last, even if it costs more money.
