Angels Flight Railway Funicular Ride

Описание: In this video, we take a trip up and down the iconic Los Angeles landmark, Angels Flight Railway, in the Bunker Hill neighborhood of Downtown LA. Opened in 1901, the funicular originally connected the once-affluent residential district on Bunker Hill with the commercial core below. Operated by the Los Angeles Incline Railway Company, the line ran continuously before being dismantled in 1969 when the area was subject to a controversial redevelopment project. Thankfully, preservation efforts paid off, and the railway was rebuilt half a block south of its original location, reopening in 1996 after several years of restoration work. Operations continued until 2001, only resuming in 2010. The funicular continued operating only until another hiatus began in 2013. With the establishment of the Angels Flight Railway Foundation, a contract operator was chosen to resume operations in 2017, and these operations have continued to this day. The line features two counterbalanced cars named Olivet and Sinai. First ride up, and then down, so be sure to check out the views of the track and drive machinery.
