7. SOUNDBITE (English) Kieron Williamson, child artist - on how he started painting:
"I started painting when I was five down in Cornwall because I liked the boats and harbors. And if I didn't do painting I'd do football and probably end up in trouble because I'm normally on the floor sliding."

"We were surprised that Kieron asked us to buy him some paper while we were down there on holiday. Billie-Jo had taken paper and pens but, you know, Kieron made a specific request. We didn't think anything of it at the time, we thought it was perhaps because he hadn't got his toys with him. But the following morning, he had spent a couple of hours doing this fantastic picture of the bay that we had been to the night before and it just amazed us that he'd spent that level of time concentrating on a piece of work and had bothered to color it in himself, which was completely unheard of before that time. (To Kieron) So you amazed us and impressed us didn't you?"
Kieron Williamson: "It wasn't the first night though, it was (the) second."

13. SOUNDBITE (English) Michelle Williamson - on Kieron's popularity:
"It's been overwhelming hasn't it? But quite reassuring. We felt quite sorry for the campers outside the gallery two days early because they obviously missed out on home comforts and things but it was reassuring to us that people were actually interested in Kieron's work and that they'd made such an effort to come over. To have a look at his work and buy his paintings."

15. SOUNDBITE (English) Kieron Williamson - on his routine:
"I normally wake up earlier before so I can get enough paint before school and I normally paint straight away after so it's almost a whole day painting."

"It's the one thing that we do struggle with Kieron is trying to get him to slow down, switch off and spend some time not doing anything because we're concerned there's a tendancy for him to keep going through out the day. (To Kieron) You're already thinking about the next day aren't you?"
Kieron Williamson: "Uh-huh."
Michelle Williamson: "I think you find sleep a bit of an inconvenience."
Kieron Williamson: "I don't need to rest."
Keith Williamson: "And he will also, even when he's chilling out, have a pencil in his hand, and he'll sit there with either a canvas board or a piece of paper and he'll sit there sketching or looking at someone's face and he'll sit there doing that or trying to draw out a cow. And then you know, after a few days, that'll end up on his pictures because he'll just practise, practise, practise."
