Im a dry cleaner, and here are my recs for keeping your jeans from fading:
1) Always wash jeans in cold water, hot water strips dye fast. Dry cleaning as a cleaning process also helps prevent fading since there is no water.
2) Flip them inside out and close those zippers and buttons while you're at it to avoid damage from mechanical action.
3) Add 1/2 cup of kosher salt, it helps lock in dye (a little).
4) Wash them with similar dark colors, and skip the dryer when you can
If you feel like they just need freshening up you can spray it with 70% rubbing alcohol, this should kill the odor causing bacteria.
