This costume honestly feels like a downgraded version of Pickle from a few seasons back. And while I wasn’t a big fan of that design either, I could appreciate that the costume had an outfit. Eggplant, by comparison, feels unfinished, but I hope they give them different outfits for each round, fitting the theme, assuming they make it past one round.
17. Le Who Who 🌸
Inspired by the infamous Labubu, we have, what was initially supposed to be named "Lil’ Big Ears." It’s cute in a scary way, but not a costume I had desired for this season.
16. Owl 🦉
Furby X Duolingo! However, the quality for this one doesn’t look the best, and similar to Eggplant, feels a little bland. I also think it’s interesting that although we’ve had owls before (Snow Owls and Night Owl), this is the first mask to just be called "Owl." Funny how such a unique costume is given a generic name, considering some of the other names this season.
15. Googly Eyes 👀
The design itself is fine, but the name really holds it back. Like Cuddle Monster, this costume would’ve been much cooler with a different, more fitting name. I pictured Cuddle Monster as an imaginary friend, and while I don’t know what I’d rename this one, I do know that Googly Eyes just doesn’t work.
14. Snowcone 🍧
I like the concept more than the execution, if I’m being honest, especially when it comes to the face. Something feels off, and I think adding eyebrows might’ve helped. Even so, it’s a unique idea, and that alone makes it a welcome addition.
13. The Croissants 🥐
An interesting idea for a duo costume. It’s not one of my favorites of the season, but I don’t have any major complaints, and it works well for what it is.
12. Pugcasso 🎨
It may be controversial to put him this low, but I’ll argue that it is because he’s confirmed a great singer, therefore people are likely to rank the costume higher. But it’s a great concept that was executed really nicely.
11. 14 Karat 🥕
Clever name. Cool costume. I think that’s about it, haha!
10. Handyman 🤖
This wasn’t a costume that had stood out to me the first time I saw it in the trailer. But now that it’s been officially revealed, it definitely surpassed my initial expectation!
9. Pangolin 🦔
I see a lot of people disliking this costume. But I’ll be honest — I don’t think this promotional image does it justice. Yeah, the face looks a little weird, but it’s overall a really cool design in my opinion.
8. Calla Lily 🌺
Production: How many flower masks do we want on the entirety of the show?
Designers: Yes
But in all seriousness, it’s a simple but elegant design that works well.
7. Queen Corgi 👑
Undoubtedly the CUTEST mask this season. It’s such a great concept that translates so nicely into a mask!
6. Galaxy Girl 🪐
It’s a pretty neat costume overall, and I really like the color scheme and metallic details. My main issue is the facial features, which feel a bit under-detailed and could’ve used more going on. I also think the outfit could’ve had more going on — think Cosmos from the third season of the Belgian version. With those issues resolved, I think the costume could definitely rank higher, as these kinds of concepts are always cool.
5. Crane 🦢
It’s a super fun costume! The detailing is super nice, and this concept really translates great onto a mask!
4. Cat Witch 🐈‍⬛
While the name "Black Cat" or "Witch" would’ve been a better name, it’s a really cool-looking costume. I like it a lot!
3. Stingray 🌊
I’m noticing most people don’t have this costume this high on their lists. However, I think it’s great! It’s a long-overdue costume, and I definitely think it was worth the wait because this looks insanely cool!
2. High Voltage 🔌
I was probably too harsh on this costume when it was first revealed, calling it a little simple. Compared to similar masks in the franchise, like Big Light (Belgium) or Light Bulb (Sweden), sure, it’s ever so slightly plain. Still, on its own, I can appreciate it, and I think it’s one of the strongest designs this season and definitely the coolest!
1. Scarab 🪲
The trailers are presenting this mask as "the most decorated celebrity." Given that we’ve had Dick Van Dyke, I’m not sure if this will be 100% accurate, but this costume is very fitting in that case, as I think this is the most decorated mask this season. I’m hoping they’ll be the best singer this season, but Pugcasso has undoubtedly set a very high bar.
