Military plans for US air strikes on Yemen have been shared with a journalist on the messaging platform Signal, hours before they were carried out.
The editor in chief of the Atlantic Magazine said he was added to a group chat, by the White House national security adviser.
The White House has confirmed the messages are real, with the breach sparking a firestorm in Washington over how the administration handles classified information.
