Austin local and Harvard student Lori Blewett created this video about her old neighborhood and how they worked through the presence of oak wilt.
Oak wilt is a contagious and incurable tree disease. Between the years 1975 – 1995, more than 10,000 oak trees were lost to oak wilt in Austin, Texas.
This is the story of oak wilt suppression in the Castlewood Forest/Oak Valley neighborhood and how Texas A&M Forest Service worked with the community to protect its community trees.
