This easy-to-grow and very popular agave is a hybrid developed in the 1960s between Foxtail Agave (Agave attenuata) and Shaw's Agave (Agave shawii). It is a very hearty and resilient alternative to the more short lived and tender Foxtail Agave, without the spines and rigor of the Shaw's Agave.

Our Blue Flame looks a lot like the Blue Glow, as they both are hybrids and share the Foxtail Agave parent, except for the more prominent 'incurved leaf' on the Blue Flame which bends inward.
